Today I am looking back at last year and thinking about everything I am grateful for. 2016 was eventful, I reached 1,000 followers on society6 (thank you all so much!) and September brought an exciting day too, being featured on Apartment Therapy!
Here’s a round-up of what’s been happening for Fox and Eagle in 2016:
New Retailers & Products
I began selling through five new retailers: Live Heroes, Zazzle, TeePublic, Etsy, and Threadless. By expanding to these new platforms, you can now buy my designs on a variety of new products. Live heroes, based in Poland, offer all over print designs for apparel, including swimsuits. I bought a swimsuit to try and absolutely fell in love with it (print quality and fabric)! On Zazzle, they also offered a new range of products to sell designs on, including dinnerware like paper plates and napkins. Lastly, on Etsy, printable wall art is now available for you to buy at a low cost of just $4.23!
The living room of our home is a place that my husband and I have devoted time in crafting a welcoming and cozy space. On a beautiful summer’s day, I gathered a few flowers from our garden to place into a vase, and together we photographed the room. Our cat graced us with an appearance in the snapshot too! I submitted that photo along with a before shot to Apartment Therapy, and I was delighted when they replied to confirm approval for the submission! In September, the post went live on their website. It was very exciting to be accepted onto a highly regarded interior design blog who receive 14 million unique visitors every month! It was amazing exposure for this blog and the Tropical Palm Print throw pillows that are featured in the photo.
1000 followers on Society6
I joined Society6 in 2014 and began producing artwork for sale on a variety of products. It felt amazing to have complete creative freedom over the designs and to develop a long-standing hobby. Last year on the platform, I sold 592 products! I believe I have produced more art pieces in the last two years than throughout my entire life. Society6 members gave direct feedback to me on each piece I posted, and I was continually inspired by the amazing artwork produced by the s6 artists. Their inspiration and support have helped me in my development as an artist throughout the last two years.
In October, I created an ebook about the Society6. The subject matter was inspired by my positive experience of selling my designs through S6, and I shared my 10 tips for using the platform. So far there have been over 100 downloads!
Working with Infinity Jars
Infinity Jars kindly sent me a couple of their jars to use in a project. The blue/black glass looked gorgeous and I used them for a homemade beauty scrub DIY guide. Their team was a joy to communicate with and I love their products!
