Beacon city in the state of New York hosts to the largest museum of contemporary art in America. The Dia:Beacon museum building was previously a factory for Nabisco (manufacturer of cookies and snacks) and now it creates a vast expanse and peaceful retreat for modern art lovers to explore. The sawtooth roof which are muted with what appears to be fabric, and large frosted factory windows light the space quite perfectly.
The New York Times features an article on the gallery which includes a photo of an exhibit by John Chamberlain. Chamberlain’s collection of metal sculptures are quite remarkable and appear to be created from parts of vehicles.
American artist Sol LeWitt exhibits a collection of 3D shapes in grey scale.
